Rock and Roll

Mattias decided to give a rock and roll concert to us.  He set up a stage and a seating area.  He used a vacuum as an amp and a push toy as a guitar.  He was singing and when he finished a song he would put his hand up and say "Thank you".  Where did he get this?  This kid is a sponge.

I tried dragging the shutter to get some motion, I have to work on that.  ;-)

Flash course at VPW

Today I attended a one a workshop on how to use an external on camera flash at VPW.   The picture of me was taken with my flash using a diffueser and figuring out how to control it wirelessly (to the side in this case).

Do Not Hump

Today I went for an inspection of a power transformer at a rail yard.  I was surprised to see individual rail cars going on tracks when we got there.  I was told they were humping!  They use these hump yards to organize the cars using gravity, pretty cool.  The transformer was cool too.  Not a lot to see as it is enclosed but it was huge.  Poor transformer though, it is not allowed to hump.   Our escort into the yard, Honk Honk!

Bread

I attempted to make bread today.  I tried a recipe I saw on TV and it turned out pretty well. We let the dough to rise for a full day.  Unfortunately, the last thing I need is eating more bread.

Nifty Fifty

Today I picked up a lens for my camera of craigslist.  It is a Nikkor 50mm 1.8D and is nicknamed the "nifty fifty".   It is know for it's low light performance, DOF and bokeh.  Here are a few pictures taken with the lens.  I think I like it.  Did I mention I like craigslist?

WIS

Today I got an email from my brother with the subject "Hey brother WIS".  WIS stands for Watch Idiot Savant, or basically people who really like watches.  My brother wanted to share a picture of his new mechanical watch.  I got into mechanical watches 9 years ago.  I do not have any Rolexes but a few nice watches that most people would not recognize as much but once in a while someone would notice and that is cool.  I find myself looking at the watches people wear, how geeky is that?  

Anyways, I have not been active in reading the watch forums due to being busy with Mattias and mainly watches cost money.  Thanks to my brother I spent tonight looking at the watch forums and thinking how to raise money for a new watch.  (ssshh, dont' tell Justine)  ;-) Actually Justine got me a nice strap for Christmas for my favorite watch, awww.  

Anyways, above is a picture of the watch I was wearing today.  It is the only mechanical watch that I have bought new and I really like it and the deployant clasp I got with it.  It is a German watch brand called Limes but pronounced LEE-MIS.  I am a watch geek.

The car is still buried

Two weeks later and the snow is still coming down.  The car is still buried, no use digging it out as I have summer tires.  The snow is getting heavier, it is bringing down our bamboo.

New Year's Day - Playing with Esme and Ava
