More trains

Today Blake, Rachel and Taylor were going to the trains.  We made the gruelling 2 block walk to join them.

Little Fort

Last weekend I went on a hunting trip (for mule deer) NE of Little Fort, BC (Barriere).  We were only there for 2 days and we did not get a deer but we had opportunities.  I had 2 good opportunities on bucks but chose not to shoot because I could not tell if they were 4 point bucks (season was only for 4 pointers).  Lesson learned, get good glass (binoculars).

We stayed at a ranch on the east side of the river.  To get there you take a small ferry which is part of the highway system but only runs during the day.  We arrived late so we had to take back roads which added an hour to the trip but going back was so much easier.

Kite flying

Last week we spent the afternoon at Jericho Beach/Spanish Banks. We had a great time and Mattias loves playing in the sand (what 2 year doesn't). We had a lot of fun playing with the kite and it was funny watching Grandma (Anne) chase after it after she let go and it flew away. She only took out a few people, ;-)

Train Rides at Confederation Park

We are fortunate to only be a couple blocks from Confederation Park. At the north end of the park there is a miniature railway which you can ride. It is run by the Burnaby Central Railway. Mattias and I usually head down on the weekend for a ride, he just loves it. They actual have a working steam engine.
